Veedel Foodie Tour

Belgian Quarter, six stops, one full belly.

Duration: 3 hfrom 65,00 €📍 Brüsseler Platz

Belgian Quarter, six stops, one full belly.

A food walk through Cologne's Belgisches Veedel (Belgian neighborhood) — brewhouse classics meet sourdough bakeries, coffee roasters and a hidden ice-cream maker.

Stops

  1. 1. Bäckerei Kraus
Sourdough loaves, four kinds, fresh from the stone oven. With butter and salt.
  2. 2. Hommage Kaffee
Filter coffee from Ethiopian beans, the smallest roaster in town.
  3. 3. Brauhaus zur Garde
One Stange and a Halver Hahn (rye roll with cheese). Classics, short and good.
  4. 4. Eismanufaktur
Three flavors, all in-house. The pistachio actually tastes like pistachio.

Meeting point

Brüsseler Platz, the church side.

Frequently asked

  • Where do we meet?

The meeting point is in each tour description. Look for Tobias in the red cap and a laugh you can hear from a block away. Show up five minutes early — Cologne is not running off.

  • Can I cancel?

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the tour. No questions asked. After that, the brewhouses are reserved and the Köbes is waiting — please call us if something urgent comes up: +49 221 555 0 555.

  • How do I pay?

Online when you book — card, PayPal, SEPA. In the brewhouses, everyone pays for their own glasses — that is the Cologne tradition. Tip the Köbes if you feel like it.

  • Do tours run in the rain?

Brewhouse tours always run — we are inside anyway. For the old-town walk: bring an umbrella, we still go. We only postpone for storm warnings, and you will get an email if that happens.

  • Can I bring kids?

On the Old Town Classic, yes — under-14s come free. Brewhouse tours are 18+. If your kid is 16 or 17 and wants to join, just ask, we figure it out.

  • What language is the tour in?

Default is German (with the occasional Cologne dialect). English tours on request — Tobias and Mara run both. Drop us a line ahead of time and we will book the right guide.
