From the cathedral to the Heinzelmännchen fountain.

Ninety minutes through the old town — Dom, Heumarkt, Alter Markt, Great St. Martin, Heinzelmännchen fountain. The stories you find in the guidebooks, and the ones you don't.

Stops

  1. 1. Cologne Cathedral
We start at the landmark. 632 years of construction — and the Shrine of the Three Kings.
  2. 2. Roncalliplatz & Roman-Germanic Museum
Cologne is two thousand years old. The original Dionysus mosaic is right here, under the glass.
  3. 3. Alter Markt & Heinzelmännchen
The Heinzelmännchen legend, the Jan-von-Werth fountain, the city hall with Germany's oldest tower.
  4. 4. Great St. Martin & Fischmarkt
Romanesque church, painted houses, the Rhine in the background. A photo stop and the story of the old harbor.

Frequently asked

  • Where do we meet?

The meeting point is in each tour description. Look for Tobias in the red cap and a laugh you can hear from a block away. Show up five minutes early — Cologne is not running off.

  • Can I cancel?

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the tour. No questions asked. After that, the brewhouses are reserved and the Köbes is waiting — please call us if something urgent comes up: +49 221 555 0 555.

  • How do I pay?

Online when you book — card, PayPal, SEPA. In the brewhouses, everyone pays for their own glasses — that is the Cologne tradition. Tip the Köbes if you feel like it.

  • Do tours run in the rain?

Brewhouse tours always run — we are inside anyway. For the old-town walk: bring an umbrella, we still go. We only postpone for storm warnings, and you will get an email if that happens.

  • Can I bring kids?

On the Old Town Classic, yes — under-14s come free. Brewhouse tours are 18+. If your kid is 16 or 17 and wants to join, just ask, we figure it out.

  • What language is the tour in?

Default is German (with the occasional Cologne dialect). English tours on request — Tobias and Mara run both. Drop us a line ahead of time and we will book the right guide.
